This year I opted out of celebrating the New Year by getting pissed and puking over a war memorial; opting for some indoor NYE fun instead. So with Joe McElderry CDs burning limply on the fire and Jools’s Hootenanny on the TV; the night was set. To date Florence and the Machine has released just two singles – the beautifully violent Kiss With A Fist and the anthemic Dog Days Are Over. She has already received a Critics Choice Brit Award and looks set for Mercury Nomination with her debut album Lungs.
