A longer sentence brings no more

The Two Door Cinema Club album (Tourist History) leaked this week. I shamefully succumbed to my desire to want to hear it and clicked the link. The shitty illegal file sharing website decided that, in leiu of me paying for their service, I could download the pirated album but at the magnificent speed of 1bit per hour. Then it froze. Then I gave up and resolved that file sharing is bad. Long live premium rapidshare.

I’ve heard that the LP is a slow starter. I’ve also heard that the singer is “fuckable”. I don’t know either statement to be true, for the record. (Click the thumb to see the video for Undercover Martyn).

One of Bono’s many, many crusades is illegal file sharing; the effect it has on “young, fledgling songwriters” and the “swollen profits” it generates for ISPs. His latest outpouring comes via a column in the New York Times in which he criticises service providers efforts to quash file sharing. I can’t help but think that this time he’s gone too far…

This year I opted out of celebrating the New Year by getting pissed and puking over a war memorial; opting for some indoor NYE fun instead. So with Joe McElderry CDs burning limply on the fire and Jools’s Hootenanny on the TV; the night was set. You can watch Jools Hootenanny on the iPlayer or, if if you can’t be bothered, listen to these highlights instead.
